Dear readers,

We apologise for the lack of updates, it isn’t that we haven’t been busy, but it is because we have too much to do. People haven’t stopped coming to see us, and we have piles of letters/complaints to reply. So please bare with us as we adapt to the new demands that are upon us.

2. The temple visits.

Over the past month since taking office, Dr Xavier has visited many temples (almost 30 !!), from around Selangor. The photos below were from 3 temple visits on the 13th of April.

3. DUN Sri Andalas thank you dinner : 8,000 crowd !!!

On the 30th of March we had our thank you dinner, in Taman Sentosa. This thank you dinner was a once and for all affair to say thank you to the entire DUN voters. WOW….we had an unexpected 8.,000 strong turn out, and it was madness at the food end. But all our volunteers managed to keep the crowd under control, but none of us were in our right minds to take photographs. Hence, the only pics available are on Klangnews.net.

4. Rotary Club of Klang, congratulatory dinner.

Dr Xavier as Past President of the Rotary Club of Klang, was given a thank you dinner by the club, about 2 weeks ago.

To all our supporters, well wishers and friends and family, we want to say a big thank you for being with us through this challenging week.

We thank the people for the their faith in us and look forward to fulfilling the mandate and the task in caring for Sri Andalas, and Selangor as a whole.

The annoucement was made at 5.30 am @ Bukit Naga, Shah Alam.

The result was this late, because of the delay tactics being used by Selangor SPR, to buy time before they had to declare that Selangor had fallen to the opposition. It was rumored that the delay was so that BN could clear Selangor SUK of all incriminating documents.

The supporters who gathered bright and early at the PAS markas, before marching to the Nomination Centre. The supporters were from PAS , PKR and Hindraf as well as other NGOs. Their presence made all the difference.

The 3 candidates (middle : PAS - Dr Siti Mariah), rode on the back of the Hilux so that they would not tire before Nomination.

OUr supporter who got hurt from the stone that was thrown by the BN. It is not a rumour is the truth. And after this incident the FRU turned up and glared at us ( i just think they didn’t know which side threw the stone)

At 2am on the 27th Feb, our Wakil Calon was called by PAS members to document the destruction of the KeADILan posters by Barisan National. These photo’s were taken as proof of their blatant breach of the Election Offences Act. Jalan Sri Sarawak 23, Taman Sri Andalas (in front of Abiz Mart)

Tomorrow morning we will file our complaints, with SPR, the police and even the BN.

If you drive 2 cars, have 1 main house (and maybe 1 or 2 other properties), have 3 children (which you can bringup without tightening the strings of your purse), have a good job, and 2 credit cards. . . . would anything at all concern you this PRU -12 ??

The DrX Team has been cracking our heads on how to get to upper middle class voters. The reason is that, they don’t come for ceramah’s, they aren’t around when we leaflet (or don’t come out if they are) and they generally aren’t interested in the opposition.

A troublesome and worrying situation indeed. Troublesome because our task as campaigners has become all the more difficult, and worrying because. the level of ignorance and non-chalance displayed by some people, is so typical of the BN’s propaganda results.

What issues open their eyes ? What are their concerns and needs ?

SRI ANDALAS (N.49) Today, went of brilliantly for us in Keadilan. Both the candidates, ie Dr AX Jayakumar for DUN N.49 Sri Andalas and Suhaimi for DUN N.50 Sri Muda, have secured straight fights against the BN.  This in itself is a great start to our campaign, and we are even more positive of winning the seats.

About 800 of our supporters (thanks to all those who turned up !! :))) gathered at markas PAS and marched towards the SPR centre in Bukit Naga, lead by our boys on motorbikes and Unit Amal PAS ( which we take our hats of too !! ). At the centre while the candidates and their nominees went in, the rest of us stood it out for 3 1/2 hours on the “battle field”. Of course we divided down the middle by our ever so loyal FRU units.

 The opposition coalition was great, cos they planned ahead and put up tents for our supporters so that we could hold ceramahs or speeches by anyone who felt like it. So by doing so our entire crowd turned our back to the jeering and booing BN supporters. The BN supporters went on with their attempts to instigate a fight and eventually just left cos no one was listening to them (we had some good speakers on the opposition side).

At one point the SPR asked us to stop our ceramah, because basically BN went and complained that they didn’t have a loud hailer to do the same. WE actually think its because the BN HAS NOTHING TO SAY ABOUT THEMSELVES THAT IS GOOD.

Our nomination went of without a hitch and we officially announced our candidates thereafter. The went on with a big lunch, and lots of supporters in high spirits putting up flags and posters.
